Help for Local Authorities with cash in Icelandic banks

Local Government Minister John Healey has announced regulations before Parliament that enable Local Authorities to postpone any possible budgetary impact of the Icelandic bank crisis until 2010-11.


The Government has acted to protect the public from potential service cuts, or council tax increases that could result from any local authority investments in Icelandic banks. Meanwhile efforts continue to recover the money.
